Pedro Belfort

Principal Engineer at Augustus in Berlin, where we’re building a bank from scratch. I work on core architecture and on shaping the engineering org: a deliberately small team built around AI to tackle a massive scope.

Before that, I spent nearly five years at Nubank as it grew beyond 140 million customers. Most of my work there was on savings and investment products. I led the team that built and launched Cajitas with Cuenta Nu in Mexico, then set the technical direction for Money Boxes globally across six teams. I also helped lead Nubank’s company-wide AI transformation.

Earlier, I co-founded a software agency and shipped mobile apps at About You, Hurb, and B2W.

I’ve stayed hands-on the whole way, and I enjoy sharing what I know. Here I write about what I’m building, learning, and teaching.
